The Sacrifice of Time

God desires to be first in your life and mine. Before your family, before your job, before your hopes, dreams, and desires. The best way to demonstrate your love for God is to put Him in the forefront of all that you do, especially in how you invest your time.

Time is a precious commodity that we either use or lose. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. No amount of money in the world can buy you more of it, and everyone, regardless of station in life, gets the exact same amount. Sometimes we invest it, sometimes we waste it and sometimes we sacrifice it.

The Bible tells us, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1

When we offer the sacrifice of time to the Lord, His abundant blessings fill us to overflowing, and He is glorified. We get the benefit of being closer to Him, becoming more like Him, and receiving His peace. The smallest sacrifice of time on our part is multiplied by God to result in a large return on our investment.

Every time we choose to sacrifice time to Him, He rewards us with peace, knowledge, understanding, guidance, and abundance. Trust Him to go before you and bless you with a significant return for your sacrifice.

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11
